Running tools locally
Many tools can be downloaded and run as a single, self-contained HTML file directly on your own device, including with no internet connection. We make a genuine effort to keep every tool safe, but we do not control the state of your machine — its operating system, browser, extensions, or other installed software. You are responsible for the security of your own device and for deciding whether to open and run any file you download. Any tool you run locally is used entirely at your own risk.
Your data
We use analytics internally to understand site usage and deliver a better experience. Analytics run without cookies and the site does not store personal data on a server. What is recorded is the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your country and browser as reported by your connection, and which buttons on this site you pressed — never the content of anything you type, upload, or generate in a tool.
Two kinds of browser storage are used, both first-party and neither shared with anyone:
- Local storage — small pieces of app state that persist between visits: whether you have agreed to these terms, whether you have subscribed to the newsletter, and whether you have dismissed the notice at the bottom of the page.
- Session storage — a random identifier for the current browser tab, so that several pages viewed in one sitting can be counted as one visit instead of several. It contains no personal information, it is not linked to you, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab. Nothing connects one visit to the next.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the visit identifier is not created at all.

The Brain Bound Learning newsletter is hosted on Substack. Managing your subscription — including unsubscribing — happens entirely through Substack.
